Mario Balotelli is one of seven players left out of Italy’s 23-man squad to face Portugal on Monday.

Balotelli was heavily criticised for his performance during Italy’s 1-1 draw with Poland, although the Nice striker limped off with a thigh injury.

Joining him in the stands are Alessio Cragno, Daniele Rugani and Nicolo Zaniolo, plus fellow starters Cristiano Biraghi, Davide Zappacosta and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
