He did not take part in full training today, working separately along with Kostas Manolas (who picked up a knock on international duty), Patrik Schick, Javier Pastore and Edin Dzeko.
Diego Perotti and Alessandro Florenzi did train and are therefore fit enough to be called up for the game.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Nzonzi was tested in De Rossi’s midfield role.
