Roberto De Zerbi had some “regrets” after Sassuolo lost 2-1 to Juventus, but pointed out the difficulties of preparing for the Old Lady.

The Neroverdi had been the only other side unbeaten so far this season, but capitulated 2-1 in Turin to a Cristiano Ronaldo brace.

“I am very happy with the overall performance and attitude of my team. It’s annoying to lose, but it can happen,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am very happy with the overall performance and attitude of my team. It’s annoying to lose, but it can happen,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The most disappointing aspect is the first goal that we conceded, while the second was because we opened up spaces to attack them in numbers.

“We actually played better after going a goal behind, perhaps shaking off some of the responsibility and tension. In a way, I do regret not introducing Khouma Babacar earlier.”

Paulo Dybala was not expected to start, but he took a deeper almost trequartista role behind Mario Mandzukic.

Juventus deserve great credit for their unpredictability and giving opposition defences very few reference points to work with. You can’t prepare for them the way you would any other side.

“The qualities I’d most like to take from Juventus are their humility and respect for the opponents. I’ve faced Juve over three years and I’ve never seen them underestimate anyone.”
