Francesca Chiesa said seeing her two sons Federico and Lorenzo embrace in the Fiorentina shirt “reminded me of Enrico embracing Federico when he was a ball-boy.”
The beautiful moment occurred after Federico scored in today’s 3-0 victory over SPAL at the Stadio Franchi.
He ran over to the touchline and hugged his younger brother Lorenzo, who is in the Viola youth academy and therefore acting as a ball-boy.
Mother Francesca and father Enrico – a former Fiorentina star striker – were watching on in the stands.
“I was moved, it was such an emotional moment for me,” Francesca Chiesa told Firenzeviola.it.
“Seeing them both down there, wearing the Viola jersey, with Federico embracing his brother with such a protective air, it was truly moving.
“It reminded me of when Enrico embraced Federico when he was a ball-boy. For a moment, the two phases of life crossed over.
“It’s special with your children. Watching Enrico was wonderful, but when your kids are on the pitch it’s a whole other sensation.”
