Iachini: ‘No problem with Dybala’

Paulo Dybala’s former Coach Beppe Iachini insists there’s “no problem” for the forward at Juventus.

La Joya is yet to score this season, and has been in and out of Massimiliano Allegri’s side so far, though he’s expected to face Bologna tonight.

“Paulo, like all the forwards who played in the World Cup, didn’t get a full pre-season which would have had him in better shape,” Iachini, who worked with Dybala at Palermo, told Il Bianconero.

“It’s a difficult period but he’ll recover quickly and return to being the player we all know. In my opinion there’s no problem.

“With me Dybala played as a second striker initially, then I moved him to the centre. He’s an eclectic player who can play anywhere in attack because he doesn’t give his opponents reference points.

“He likes to play all across the attack, maybe in a 4-3-3 his movement is limited to just one side. It’s therefore logical that you’d see him less on the pitch.

“Paulo is a champion though, he just has to find his sheen.

“I don’t think he’s being obscured by [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Federico] Bernardeschi, who are just in better condition than him at the moment.

“I think these periods can happen during a season and Allegri has shown that he knows exactly how to manage the big squad he has. It’s just a question of time, everyone will find their best condition.

“I don’t think Juve will let him [Dybala] go in January. They’ve already sold [Gonzalo] Higuain, it’s hard to see them making two big sales in such a short period of time.

“The Bianconeri want to win and a player like Paulo is always needed. Personally, I’m just waiting for the moment he gets back to his best.

“I think Juventus look very good, they’ve started very strongly and they have a tried and tested system that allows the new players to integrate more easily.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, but he’s not a machine as many people think, so it’s normal he had some difficulties at the start.

“Now he’s broken his duck he’ll score a lot, I think he’ll get 20-25 goals here in Italy.”
