Antonio Candreva confirms he received an offer from AS Monaco, but “decided to stay as I had so much to prove at Inter.”
The winger had been on the verge of a transfer as part of the Keita Balde Diao deal this summer.
“I was meant to leave, but then I decided to stay,” Candreva told Sport Mediaset.
“Monaco was an opportunity, but I didn’t take it into consideration because I had so much to prove at Inter. I want to prove myself here and indeed I have to.

“I am in a very strong team and there was simply nothing better than Inter.”
Candreva failed to score a single goal last season, but broke that drought on September 1 against Bologna.
“That was a moment of great joy and the dry run had become a weight on me. I hope that can represent a new beginning. The goal was dedicated to my son, who is on the way.”
