The Spallini had conceded just one goal in the opening four rounds, but have now lost two on the bounce, falling 3-0 to Fiorentina and 2-0 at home with Sassuolo.

“We proved that we had a very different attitude to the game against Fiorentina. For over an hour we did well, playing on level terms with an excellent Sassuolo,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The deadlock was eventually broken by the Neroverdi, then we didn’t manage to get back into it. That’s a pity. We allowed counter-attacks that were simply too easy and were never able to block them off.

“Our objective for the season has not changed. We’ll try to improve game by game.”
