Rafa Benitez has reportedly asked Newcastle United to sign SPAL defender Francesco Vicari.
According to Sport Mediaset, the Magpies have set their sights on the 24-year-old centre-back.
An approach could well be made in January by the Premier League side.
Vicari came up through the Novara youth academy and joined SPAL in the summer of 2016.
He played a crucial part in getting the Spallini promoted from Serie B in 2016-17.
