Inter have discovered strength in depth, with 10 different players finding the net in all competitions this season.

Lautaro Martinez got his maiden strike in a Nerazzurri jersey and Matteo Politano followed suit in the 2-0 victory over Cagliari on Saturday.

That means 10 players have put their names on the scoresheet for Inter this term and only one – Ivan Perisic – netted more than once.

That means 10 players have put their names on the scoresheet for Inter this term and only one – Ivan Perisic – netted more than once.

The others to have successfully converted a chance between Serie A and the Champions League are Antonio Candreva, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij, Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino, Radja Nainggolan and Mauro Icardi.

It is particularly significant for Luciano Spalletti’s side, because throughout the entire 2017-18 season there were only 12 different players who contributed goals.

In fact, Icardi alone scored 29 in 36 games, dwarfing the next most prolific teammate Perisic’s tally of 11.

Only Milan Skriniar (4), Brozovic (4), Eder (3), Matias Vecino (3), Borja Valero (2), Andrea Ranocchia (2), D’Ambrosio (2), Rafinha (2), Yann Karamoh (1) and Joao Cancelo (1) also got goals last season.

It means Icardi and Perisic were behind 74 per cent of all Inter’s goals last term.
