Faouzi Ghoulam is expected to train with the Napoli squad over the international break, so he could be called up for the trip to Udinese.

The Algerian hasn’t played in over a year, after suffering with a ruptured cruciate ligament and then a broken knee cap.

He has been cleared to return to training, and now Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli reports that he’ll work with the group over the international break.

While much of the Partenopei squad will be away with their respective national teams, Ghoulam will train with those who remain at Castelvolturno.

He could therefore be in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the trip to Udinese on October 20, or the visit of Roma a week later.

Ghoulam is extremely unlikely to start in either of those games, but his return to the pitch is getting closer.
