Virtus Entella will be a club without a division until at least October 23, as the TAR has delayed its verdict.
The Diavoli Neri – with whom Antonio Cassano is currently training – were relegated in via the play-offs last season, and started 2018-19 in Serie C.
Avellino, Bari and Cesena were unable to register for Serie B, which has controversially started with just 19 teams.
Cesena were handed a 15 point deduction for financial mismanagement which was applied to the 2018-19 campaign.

Cesena were handed a 15 point deduction for financial mismanagement which was applied to the 2018-19 campaign.
However, after Entella had won 3-1 at Gozzano on September 17, CONI ruled that Cesena’s point deduction should have been applied to last season.
Had that happened, Entella would have stayed up automatically and never been in the third division.
However, while CONI has ruled that they should be readmitted to Serie B, the FIGC insists the Olympic Committee doesn’t have the power to decide that and the case has ended up at the Tribunale Amministrativo Regionale.
While that is ongoing, Entella cannot play any Serie C matches and it has today been confirmed that the TAR won’t rule on the case until after October 23.
Three rounds of fixtures are scheduled before then, after which some teams will have played eight games while Entella will still be on one.
As things stand, Serie B will have reached Week 8 before any decision is made.
