Torino President Urbano Cairo claims Giampiero Ventura ‘always brings me luck’ after he won two bets over the ex-Italy CT returning to management.
Ventura’s top-level career in Italy looked to be over after he became public enemy for failing to take the Azzurri to the 2018 World Cup.
However, the 70-year-old was appointed Chievo’s new boss earlier in the week and Cairo has not forgotten the Coach’s work at Torino before his spell with La Nazionale.
“I was certain that he’d get back into coaching within a year of Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“A couple of people weren’t convinced and so I had bets with both of them and won two dinners. Ventura always brings me luck…”
