Lorenzo Insigne is enjoying his new position for Napoli and believes he can make an impact for Italy in the Nations League against Poland.

It kicks off on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), a head-to-head in order to avoid relegation from League A.

“This is an important match and we must win at all costs,” the Napoli forward told Rai Sport.

“We are working to be ready, but know it won’t be easy. Poland are a really good side, but Italy are strong too and tomorrow we’ll try to bring the three points home.”

It’s reported we’ll again see the trident attack with Federico Bernardeschi and Federico Chiesa in a 4-3-3 formation, which was used in Wednesday’s 1-1 friendly draw with Ukraine.

“It was our first game together and even if we didn’t get the result we wanted, we did work hard to play good football.”

Insigne’s position has been transformed at club level too, with Carlo Ancelotti turning him from a winger to a more central striker.

“Talking to the Coach, he had asked me to try out this new position. I said I’d give it a go and I’m really enjoying it. The Coach asked me to make fewer sacrifices in defence and focus more on being incisive in front of goal, which is what I’m doing.”

In today’s interview with the Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said Insigne is the best Italian player at the moment.

“I thank Sarri and always will thank him for all he gave to Napoli.”
