He also found the net with his debut goal for Poland in his second cap against Portugal.

“Piatek is a player we have been monitoring since 2016, back when he was playing for Zaglebie Lubin, and he always seemed very impressive,” Football Prince Management representative Francesco Spisso told Calcio Napoli 24.

“Our agency turned to our associates in Poland and they gave us the chance to represent him. We proposed him to numerous clubs, including Napoli in Italy.

“He wasn’t very expensive and was clearly a bargain, but Italian clubs struggle to believe in such a young player. The same thing happened to Ilija Nestorovski at Palermo.

“There was a chat with Napoli and they never even replied. They simply didn’t take him into consideration.

“I will admit, nobody could’ve thought a complete newcomer to Serie A could score nine goals in his first seven games. It’s historic and I’ve never seen that happen before. Piatek has a lot of charisma and is ready for Serie A.”

There are reports Napoli are giving it another go with an offer worth €25m to Genoa.

“There is interest from Napoli, considering Dries Mertens is getting on a bit. Piatek is in the plans of (President Aurelio) De Laurentiis. However, Genoa intend to keep hold of him until next year so the price-tag can soar. It’s all in flux at the moment and even Genoa are struggling to pin down a figure.

“Along with Napoli, there has been interest from Roma, Juventus, Barcelona, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.”
