Icardi has yet to win a trophy with Inter since arriving from Sampdoria five years ago, while Spalletti has so far been unwilling to partner the striker with his fellow Argentine.
“I always try to improve and help on the field by giving what I can,” the Nerazzurri captain told FCInterNews.it.

“I always try to improve and help on the field by giving what I can,” the Nerazzurri captain told FCInterNews.it.
“We always try to improve and find solutions that help the team. After that, I contribute with goals.
“Not touching the ball enough? It’s something about me that’s done the rounds, but it doesn’t affect me.
“I’ve played in Serie A for the past 7-8 years and that’s how I play. The talk won’t change my way of thinking.
“Listening to the criticism, I try to find things that can help me. However, the Icardi who’s been playing in Serie A is this one.
“The coach decides whether I play with Lautaro [Martinez], but he’s doing well. I’ve given him a hand.
“If we play together we’ll do well because he has quality and experience, as well as being young.
“Ultimately, we play to help the team and find the best system. I also feel good with Nainggolan.
“He’s a good player, and playing with someone like him is easy. He’s shown his strength and quality with the ball throughout his career. We’ll improve even more.
“It would be a dream to be able to repeat the treble of 2010, but it’s not on our minds. We must always do well. After that, trophies will follow.
“That year was one of the treble, but I don’t think the players said they wanted to win the three trophies beforehand. They did well and won the trophies they deserved.
“I’d like to win something with Inter this season. If things go well, trophies may follow.”
