Toro had kept two consecutive clean sheets on their travels and seemed to be in complete control at the Stadio Dall’Ara after Iago Falque and Daniele Baselli goals.

“Salvatore Sirigu only made one save all game and we conceded two goals, but the fact remains we always seem to think it’s comfortable and underestimate the dangers,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“We had four clear scoring opportunities that we wasted and thought the game was over when it wasn’t. We’re self-destructive, it’s an absurd result and hard to explain how this ended in a draw.

“Finally, we played really well on our travels and took the game to Bologna, it was all going perfectly well. A mature team doesn’t throw away a two-goal lead and evidently we still need time to grow.

“The fact remains, we threw away two points today.”
