Paulo Dybala said Juventus “showed intelligence” to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford and have “gained self-confidence.”

La Joya pounced on the rebound from Cristiano Ronaldo’s pass to Juan Cuadrado, meaning he has scored five goals in his last four Champions League appearances.

“We showed more intelligence today and played well, defending with strength in the final stages,” Dybala told Sky Sport Italia.

“In recent years, we have gained self-confidence. We know what we can do and the reasons why we did not win before.

“Now we must continue like this and the results will arrive.”

Considering he also scored against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley last season, Dybala seems to have an affinity for England.

“It was unforgettable to score in a stadium like this and I am very happy. Obviously, it does remind me of the goal at Wembley, because these are the stadiums you see growing up and dream of playing here. Plus Juve hadn’t won here for a long time, so that’s another extra.

“Manchester United almost allowed us to play in the first half, giving us some space, but changed after the break and we defended well. It was a great first half and it’s not easy to play with such character and confidence in a stadium like this.”
