Juventus took a 1-0 win over Manchester United in their Champions League game last night, in a match they dominated almost throughout.

Unsurprisingly the Italian newspapers raved about the perforance, with Gazzetta dello Sport declaring the Bianconeri had achieved their “masters degree in the Champions League”.

“It’s a certificate to hang on the wall at Continassa,” the pink paper continued. “Forget the apprehensions of the past, limited to a few moments of the match, a great European team has been born”.

“It’s a certificate to hang on the wall at Continassa,” the pink paper continued. “Forget the apprehensions of the past, limited to a few moments of the match, a great European team has been born”.

The front page of this morning’s Tuttosport declared simply “Bellissima!”, while inside Miralem Pjanic’s ‘maestro” performance was the subject of much praise.

The Corriere dello Sport called it “a great show of strength”, noting that in the first 45 minutes Juventus were “absolute masters, bordering on technical perfection with 93 per cent of passes successful”.

While United’s second half fightback was noted “the certainty that this is a Juventus that scares Europe remains. We struggle to remember an Italian team that dominates like this in a stadium like Old Trafford”.

For the Corriere della Sera “Fort Trafford raised the white flag and surrendered to Juventus without too much resistance”. Having conquered, the newspaper writes, “Allegri puts on Bernardeschi and Barzagli, and builds the wall. Atop, beautiful and clear, the Bianconeri flag flies”.
