Napoli midfielder Allan has received his first-ever call-up to the Brazil squad for their upcoming matches against Uruguay and Cameroon.
Allan had been linked with the Azzurri, given he has been playing his trade in Serie A for the past six years and reportedly has a distant Italian relative.
However, Brazil have opted to select him before a Jorginho situation possibly reoccurs, the 27-year-old joined by Inter defendr Miranda and Juventus winger Douglas Costa.
Nonetheless, he could remain an option for Italy as the two games next month are not competitive fixtures.
The Selecao face Uruguay on November 16, before travelling to the English town of Milton Keynes for a friendly with Cameroon four days later.
Brazil squad: Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City), Gabriel Brazao (Cruzeiro); Danilo (Manchester City), Fabinho (Brazil), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Miranda (Inter), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Pablo (Bordeaux), Dede (Cruzeiro); Allan (Napoli), Arthur (Barcelona), Casemiro (Real Madrid), Paulinho (Guangzhou Evergrande), Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona), Wallace (Hannover); Douglas Costa (Juventus), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Neymar (Barcelona), Richarlison (Everton), Willian (Chelsea)
