“Napoli put in an excellent performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and deserved the victory, even if they only got what was still an important point,” said Di Francesco in his Press conference.

“We also played well against CSKA Moscow and found our way after the defeat to SPAL. I expect the same attitude and performance as last season, when we won here. In order to leave Naples with a positive result, you need to play a great game.

“Napoli have changed something in the way they interpret matches since Carlo Ancelotti took over from Maurizio Sarri and he brings his experience. They were more repetitive in their movements last season, even if I can still see a lot of Sarri’s team here.

“Lorenzo Insigne’s position has changed and he can cut in from any angle now to surprise the defenders. Napoli have less possession and more ability to go straight for the jugular.

“Insigne is more of a second striker than a False 9 in the Dries Mertens mould. He is in great form and can cause us problems, as he does really well interpreting situations depending on how the opposition defence moves. He’s the one we need to look out for, certainly.”

When asked what Napoli can expect from Roma, Di Francesco outlined his team’s strengths and weaknesses, but above all their inconsistency.

“They never know what Roma they’ll be up against. This side can put in a fantastic performance or completely lose their heads. It’s an unpredictable team, so we must work hard to rediscover our consistency and tomorrow is a big opportunity to do that.

“We’ve taken quite a few slaps lately and we cannot afford any more. Daniele De Rossi and Aleksandar Kolarov are better now, but still not in top condition, while I think Alessandro Florenzi is available, as he did train today.”
