The captain will make history with his 511th appearance in a Napoli jersey.

This will equal the club record set by former right-back Bruscolotti, who represented the club from 1972 to his retirement in 1988.

It’s just adding to the club records Hamsik already possesses, including that of top scorer on 120 goals (leaving behind Diego Maradona’s 115) and foreign player with the most games under his belt.

The Slovakia international has scored 100 Serie A goals, so is within reach of Atilla Sallustro’s record of 106 for Napoli, which has lasted since 1937.

Edinson Cavani has the most goals in European competition for the club on 19, but Hamsik isn’t too far behind on 15.
