Cagliari Coach Rolando Maran celebrates the 2-1 victory over Chievo, but is concerned they risked throwing it away at the end.

The Sardinians won thanks to Leonardo Pavoletti’s header and a Lucas Castro strike, despite the late Mariusz Stepinski effort.

“It’s a pity that we had to suffer at the end, as we got complacent and allowed Chievo to get back into it,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a pity that we had to suffer at the end, as we got complacent and allowed Chievo to get back into it,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Chievo proved they deserve to be higher up the table than their current position. We must always go strong and attacking, not just to avoid repeating the end of this game, but also to keep the tempo we had when going 2-0 up.

“I think having a centre-forward is crucial for every team, especially as Pavoletti not only scores goals, but also works hard for the team.”
