Marcello Lippi has confirmed that he will not coach another club side but could stay in international management ‘for a few more years’.

Lippi has spent the last two years in charge of the Chinese national team, and the 70-year-old backtracked on his previous claim that it was ‘likely’ he would retire from coaching after the Asian Cup in January.

“I’ll be with China until the end of January,” Italy’s World Cup-winning CT told reporters.

“After the Asian Cup I’ll talk to the federation, but I won’t work for another club. Another national team? Yes, maybe closer to home. It’s possible for a few more years.”

The former Juventus and Inter Coach was then asked about Antonio Conte, who has been linked with Real Madrid.

“He’s always prepared and he can work for any club in the world, but I don’t know what goes on in his head,” he concluded.
