The current manager of Cameroon was given his first coaching job at Milan from January to June 2014, managing 11 wins, two draws and nine defeats.

With current boss Gattuso under pressure, Seedorf discussed the extremely difficult job with Tuttomercatoweb.

“It wouldn’t be wise to replace Gattuso, just as it made no sense to remove me from the bench. He is doing a great job and the club has only been relatively calm for a couple of months.

“Gattuso did so well to keep the group united and has to be allowed to continue his work. Now fortunately the club has directors who know how to build a team.

“Milan are still great and always will be, as that is dictated by their history and the fans. Results must be built over time, as when Juventus were climbing up from Serie B, they were starting a new era and we knew that they’d soon become the team to beat.

“Milan now need a long-term project and I am convinced that with Leonardo and Maldini in charge, they can get off to the best start. I see Milan gradually getting stronger.”
