Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani looks forward to “a special match” against former side Napoli tomorrow.
The Uruguayan spent three seasons in Naples, hitting over 30 goals in all competitions in each of those years.
Tomorrow PSG visit the Stadio San Paolo for a Champions League showdown, in which a loss for either side would leave them staring down the barrel of elimination.
“I had three fantastic years at Napoli,” Cavani told PSGTV. “I have a lot of memories from my time at the club. We're getting ready to meet them again for a special match in which both teams are in a difficult situation. It'll be a great game, because both teams need to win to get an advantage in the race to qualify.
“So, it'll be a special game for a number of reasons. Firstly, because we have to go there to win and then because I had a great experience there.
“It's difficult to win at the San Paolo… It's difficult, but not impossible. It's a team that likes to go into battle, but I think we'll show that we have the level to play this kind of game.
“A difficult match, intense, high level...We have to play together, for each other. For me, that's the key to achieving our goals.
“We've played a lot of difficult and key games with Paris. With team, you pick up experience. It'll be an important match for us, because it'll be an opportunity to show that we can play together and overcome numerous obstacles.
“I hope to be ready, I'm doing all I can to be ready. I am just coming back from an injury, and now I want to be in top form to be able to give my all for the team and win this game.”
