Milan defender Andrea Conti received a three-match ban for punching the door of the referee’s room, while Paolo Maldini was also penalised for insulting officials.

The incidents occurred after the Primavera youth team’s game against Chievo, where Conti played 58 minutes in his first competitive match since a series of knee problems began over a year ago.

Following the match, a Disciplinary Commission report states that Conti “caught up with the referee at the door of his locker room, prevented him from closing the door by punching it twice and in the same circumstance aiming an insulting term at the referee with very loud shouting that only subsided after the official repeatedly asked him to stop.”

Director Paolo Maldini was also banned from any Federation duties until November 15 for “entering the referee’s locker room, even though he was not authorised to do so by the official, and aiming an insulting term towards the referee.”
