Lorenzo Insigne’s deal with Adidas in May saw the German sportswear giant become the first technical sponsor to sign an agreement with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentis that included image rights.

It also fuelled speculation that Adidas could replace Kappa as the Partenopei’s kit-maker, but the club wrote on their official website: “Napoli and the BasicNet Group – the owner of the Kappa brand – would like to categorically deny rumours regarding a possible change to Napoli’s technical sponsor.

“Both parties wish to stress that these reports are completely false. The partnership will continue until the end of the 2019-20 season, unless – as hoped – it is further extended.”
