Paul Pogba thanked Juventus fans for the welcome, but Manchester United “had an extra breath or power to push it at the end.”
The former Bianconeri midfielder was treated with kid gloves by the local supporters in his first trip back to Turin.
“Lovely we won. That was most important,” Pogba told BT Sport after a 2-1 result.
“The fans were very welcoming with me and I really appreciate that. We played against a good team, but the three points were most important.”
Manchester United were under the cosh for long periods, as Juve hit the woodwork twice and took the lead through a Cristiano Ronaldo stunner, but incredibly Juan Mata’s free kick and a last-gasp Alex Sandro own goal turned it around.
“I celebrate for the goal, it was strange it touched a lot of people. We've been playing well together and until the end we've done very well. We had maybe an extra breath or power to push it at the end.”
