Sampdoria forward Gregoire Defrel admits it’s “strange” to be playing against parent club Roma, but aims “to show what I can do”.
The Frenchman joined the Giallorossi in 2017, but he managed just one goal in 20 appearances last season.
That saw him loaned to Samp with an option to buy, and he’ll come up against his parent club this weekend.
“It’s strange for me,” Defrel admitted, speaking to Sky.
“I’m happy to go back there and play in that beautiful stadium. I have to show what I can do.
“What went wrong? A bit of everything, starting with injuries. I wasn’t able to express my qualities, but now I’m only thinking of Sampdoria.”
