Genoa boss Ivan Juric insists Krzysztof Piatek is ‘calm’, despite his mini goal drought, but accepts the striker ‘must remain confident’.

Piatek scored 13 in his first nine appearances for Genoa, having only arrived from Polish side Cracovia over the summer, but the 23-year-old has gone three games without finding the back of the net.

“We worked well all week except yesterday because the turf was heavy due to the rain,” Juric said at a Press conference for Saturday’s match against Genoa in Serie A.

“Today I’ll decide how to replace Sandro in midfield; tomorrow we’ll have to play the right game, with the courage to attack.

“In Italy, the calibre of the top teams has risen a lot. Napoli are a great team, who always play to win.

“Piatek is fit and has recovered. He had chances to score in the last few games, but he’s working calmly.

“He knows there are times when the ball doesn’t go in, but he must remain confident. Genoa showed a lot of bravery at San Siro.

“I’m convinced that our team have ample room for improvement.I prefer a different kind of football to Ballardini, who did a great job with this team.

“Sometimes we’re naive because we’re young. Tomorrow we’ll play with two forwards. Tactically we’ll do something different, but something very similar to before.

“Lisandro Lopez? He’s a sincere professional, who offers class and serenity. Sooner or later he’ll be very useful. Romero is giving me guarantees at the moment.”
