“Injuries are tearing Milan apart, but the team has to look Juve in the eye and show no fear,” Rossoneri legend Sacchi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I don’t think they ought to go and press right from their forwards, but not sit back and defend either. They have to play a balanced encounter, just like Gattuso’s men are capable of.

“Rino is a phenomenon, as he has given Milan back their soul. He also makes his team play good and positive football. The only elements his side lacks are a bit of pace and more pressing.

“It’s good that these lads never give in, and keep winning games at the last second. Rino is someone who’d give his life for football and for his players.

“Gattuso has restored dignity to a team that had lost it, he made the players understand what it means to be at Milan.”

Juventus are runaway Serie A leaders, dropping points only in a 1-1 draw with Genoa, but were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United in the Champions League midweek.

“Juve have enormous potential, players who can decide a match at any moment,” continued Sacchi.

“I’m not just thinking about Cristiano Ronaldo, but also Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado and Mario Mandzukic. The way to beat Juve is to press them and keep them far away from your penalty area. Juventus are dangerous 70 metres from the Rossoneri box, but they can be controlled there.

“If they get close to Gianluigi Donnarumma, then there will be trouble!”

The star man in the Bianconeri jersey is Cristiano Ronaldo, although he has never scored a goal at San Siro.

“The way to mark Ronaldo is with the team. When my Milan played against Diego Maradona’s Napoli, I told them the important thing is to ensure he doesn’t see much of the ball, certainly less than he’s accustomed to.

“That is why pressing is the only way to achieve a result here. You must cut off the supply to Cristiano, take him out of the game, because he is a terminal for all their moves.”
