Higuain: ‘It won’t happen again’

Gonzalo Higuain assures Milan fans “I’ll do everything possible” not to repeat his sending off against Juventus last night.

The striker was booked for a foul on Medhi Benatia, and utterly lost his head, being shown a second yellow for screaming in Paolo Mazzoleni’s face.

“I want to apologise to everyone for my behaviour on the pitch yesterday,” Higuain wrote on Instagram.

“From my teammates to the club, to the fans who have shown me their love since yesterday. I take responsibility and I’ll do everything possible to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

Interestingly, Pipita also posted in his native Spanish, but included some justification for his actions.

“We’re people too and we have feelings, but I’m responsible and I hope it won’t happen again. Some will understand, others won’t”.
