Gonzalo Higuain explains “I’m a person with this character”, after the Milan striker was sent off against Juventus.
Pipita was facing his former club on Sunday night, and reacted furiously to being shown a late yellow card by referee Paolo Mazzoleni.
That earned him a second booking and a two game ban, though the Rossoneri are appealing that.
As a result the Argentine was awarded the Tapiro d’Oro, a gag ‘prize’ given by satirical news show Striscia La Notizia to people who have been notably embarrassed or defeated that week.
“In Turin you brought me this and I started scoring,” Higuain smiled, with Juventus given the prize in October last year after a defeat to Lazio.
“Hopefully it’s a good omen. Things went as they did, I’m a person with this character.
“I’m very happy that I received affection from the Milan fans, the club and my teammates. That’s what makes you proud.”
