Napoli are ready to take up their purchase option from Arsenal on David Ospina, even if he doesn’t make 30 appearances.
The goalkeeper arrived on loan for €1m in mid-August, during the final days of the transfer window, with an option to buy for a further €3.5m.
That would become mandatory if he played in 30 competitive games for the Partenopei during the season.
According to La Repubblica newspaper, Napoli have decided they will purchase Ospina on a permanent basis, even if he doesn’t meet the criteria.
The Colombia international had been expected to fill in the gaps after new signing Alex Meret broke his arm in July, but has become a key figure.
Meret is still not fully recovered and is waiting to make his Napoli debut.
