Milan President Paolo Scaroni insists ‘I prefer three consecutive participations in the Champions League to one Scudetto.’
Milan have famed most for their European successes throughout their history, and Scaroni made it clear nothing had changed in that respect, despite the Rossoneri going four years without Champions League football.
“It’s not easy to say what we’re missing because in modern football, the sporting part must go hand in hand with the economic one,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Of course, a team like ours should always be in the Champions League. To Agnelli, I say that I prefer three consecutive participations in the Champions League to one Scudetto.
“Higuain’s always tense. He was even more so at Juve, but he apologised and didn’t insult anyone. At 30, however, he must learn to restrain himself.
“Gattuso staying for a long time depends on his results, which so far have been positive. He’s doing better than those who preceded him.
“The team have their own ‘grinta’. even if I was sad after Milan-Betis.”
