Napoli midfielder Allan made his debut for Brazil in this evening’s 1-0 friendly victory over Uruguay, as Diego Laxalt gave away a penalty.
Although he had five caps for his country at Under-20 level, the 27-year-old had not previously featured for the Seleçao.
He had been approached by Italy to switch his allegiance, but this alerted Tite to the urgency of the situation and he was called up.
Allan came off the bench in the 1-0 friendly win against Uruguay in London, decided when Milan left-back Diego Laxalt was adjudged to have clipped Danilo’s heels and Neymar converted the late penalty.
Inter defender Joao Miranda and Juventus forward Douglas Costa also started for Brazil, while Uruguay featured Martin Caceres of Lazio, Laxalt, Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur and Inter’s Matias Vecino.
