Sassuolo wing-back Claud Adjapong fractured his fibula during the Italy Under-21 friendly against England this week.
He went off just 21 minutes into the 2-1 defeat at the Stadio Paolo Mazza in Ferrara on Thursday.
Upon his return to the Sassuolo base, the club announced Adjapong has been diagnosed with a compound fracture of the left fibula.
It is not yet clear how long he will be out for, but more tests will be performed over the next few days and he’ll see a specialist before deciding on the next step.
