Roberto Mancini’s 4-3-3 system with quick passing has more than a nod towards Maurizio Sarri’s approach at Napoli and then Chelsea, both of them very familiar to Jorginho.

“We are struggling to score goals, but we’ve been playing really well for three games now and we’re on the right path,” the Brazil-born midfielder told Rai Sport after the 0-0 Nations League result.

“We just have to keep calm and continue playing like this, as we deserve the victory. If we work with humility, the results and goals will come too.”

Jorginho is forming a new generation of midfield for Italy with PSG star Verratti and 21-year-old Cagliari player Barella.

“We work well together, can cover each other’s backs when we go forward and I think we are playing really good football. We just need to keep hold of that positive and attacking mentality, then the rest will come.”
