Milan continue to seek defensive reinforcements in January, with approaches for Rodrigo Caio of Sao Paulo and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly.

The Rossoneri are in the depth of an injury crisis, losing Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio, Mattia Caldara, Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura for at least a month, some as many as five months.

The biggest problems are in defence and director Leonardo is hard at work trying to find replacements.

There are reports of another meeting with Rodrigo Caio’s representatives for the 25-year-old Sao Paulo star.

Meanwhile, the Corriere dello Sport suggests Milan have asked Manchester United for Bailly on loan in January.

The 24-year-old Ivorian is increasingly irritated at the lack of playing time, as he was hauled off just 19 minutes into the Premier League game against Newcastle United on October 6 and hasn’t been seen since.

Milan face competition for Bailly from Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
