Tonali to debut against USA

Italy are expected to start Sandro Tonali, Daniele Rugani and Domenico Berardi in the friendly against the USA.

It kicks off in the Belgian city of Genk on Tuesday at 19.45 GMT.

The Azzurri were held to a 0-0 draw by Portugal in the Nations League last night and complete the break for international duty with this friendly test.

Coach Roberto Mancini released Lorenzo Pellegrini, Ciro Immobile, Jorginho, Alessandro Florenzi, Lorenzo Insigne and Gorgio Chiellini from the squad.

He intends to keep using the 4-3-3 formation, but all some fresh faces to make an impact, including the debut for 18-year-old Brescia sensation Tonali.

Juventus defenders Rugani and Mattia De Sciglio should also start, with Emerson Palmieri of Chelsea on the left.

Cagliari youngster Nicolò Barella, Leonardo Bonucci and Gianluigi Donnarumma are expected to be the only remaining players who started against Portugal.

Pellegrini had originally been set to start, but the Roma man’s bruise means Roberto Gagliardini of Inter can step in instead.

Udinese striker Kevin Lasagna is flanked by Matteo Politano and Sassuolo’s Berardi.

Italy (probable): Donnarumma; De Sciglio, Bonucci, Rugani, Emerson Palmieri; Barella, Tonali, Gagliardini; Politano, Lasagna, Berardi
