Former Italy CT Roberto Donadoni insists only ‘patience’ is needed for the Azzurri and that ‘I hope to coach Milan one day.’

Donadoni replaced Marcello Lippi after Italy won the 2006 World Cup, guiding them to the semi-finals at Euro 2008, while the ex-Milan winger has continually been linked with the top job at San Siro.

“I don’t think the national team have a real problem in attack,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“I don’t think the national team have a real problem in attack,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“Only a bit of patience is needed, given we have some quality forwards. Mancini is trying to rejuvenate our national team, using players who don’t play regularly for their clubs.

“We mustn’t turn our backs to these young players. We must give them time to grow. I’m not in a frenzy, but I hope to get back into coaching as soon as possible.

“When will I coach Milan? One day I hope, but I also hope that they put together a good run of results soon.”
