Former Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi insists ‘I’m ready to play at my usual levels again’ after growing frustrated with his free-agent status.
Rossi remains without a club after being released by Genoa over the summer, and the 31-year-old admits his injury-plagued past is putting suitors off.
“I have to be patient and ready for when an opportunity comes my way because the situation isn’t in my hands,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
“I thought I’d have received a few more offers, but I had to deal with squads shrinking to 25 players so some clubs who were maybe interested in me couldn’t fit me in.
“So many people took my injuries into account, but they no longer exist. Of course, I won’t deny that I had them, but they never stopped me.
“I’ve always come back to and I’m ready to play at my usual levels again. I’m not looking for a five-year contract that earns me millions of Euros, I just want to show I’m a capable footballer.”
