Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain must serve his two-match ban after his appeal was rejected on Friday.

Higuain was sent off for dissent in Milan’s 2-0 defeat to Juventus, losing his temper and raging at the referee, before leaving the field in tears and being consoled by players from both his former and current team.

The Argentine testified alongside Rossoneri lawyers in Rome on Friday, but their plea for the ban to be halved was thrown out.

Consequently, the 31-year-old will miss the Diavolo’s upcoming Serie A games against Lazio and Parma.
