“Sassuolo are one of those sides right behind the big clubs who can aim for something more than mere safety, but we have to focus on securing our Serie A status,” said the Ducali Coach in his Press conference.

“If we do well on the day and win the game, we can leapfrog Sassuolo in the table, but they remain a step ahead of us on the ladder anyway. There should be no comparisons with Sassuolo, as we are a newly-promoted club, they are very ambitious and spent a lot of money on the transfer market.

“Roberto De Zerbi is a fine Coach and I say that independently of the fact he is my friend. I watched him train, I’ve seen him at work and he has a lot of experience, despite being so young.”

While De Zerbi is notorious for his all-attack style of football, D’Aversa is rather more conservative.

“I don’t engage in Catenaccio tactics or anything. I’d say I’m effective.”

Leo Stulac returns from suspension, but Antonio Di Gaudio, Massimo Gobbi, Federico Dimarco and Francisco Sierralta are out of action.

Parma squad for Sassuolo: Bagheria, Frattali, Sepe; Bastoni, Bruno Alves, Gagliolo, Gazzola, Iacoponi; Barillà, Deiola, Grassi, Rigoni, Scozzarella, Stulac; Biabiany, Ceravolo, Ciciretti, Gervinho, Inglese, Siligardi, Sprocati
