“We have many players of immense quality and the Coach knows how to make the most of them,” director Nedved told Sky Sport Italia.

“The Coach is very good at this and I like his decision of creating some organised chaos in attack, because the creativity of these players shouldn’t be tied up, but opened up so they can enjoy themselves, create and entertain the supporters too.”

Roma and Juve need only a point to get through to the next round, while Inter and Napoli are also in strong positions to progress.

“It would be fantastic to have four Italian teams in the Round of 16. I had already said there was a rebirth coming a couple of years ago, so I think it started a while ago.”

Former Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta left the club and is on the verge of signing for Inter.

“Marotta was very important for Juve, but at the end of the day teams have to do it all on the pitch. That is the most important thing for everyone.”
