Giuseppe Iachini told off Empoli for fumbling a 2-1 lead against 10-man SPAL. “We stopped playing for five minutes.”

The Tuscans were on the verge of a third consecutive victory, fighting back to lead 2-1 at the Stadio Mazza, but SPAL snatched a point through Jasmin Kurtic’s brace of headers.

“There are regrets, because the lads put in a great performance, we created so much and allowed very little,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t understand the mood of the match after SPAL went down to 10 men. We tried to keep hold of the ball and close off the game, so we stopped playing for five minutes and SPAL took advantage.

“We can’t think of lowering the level of our intensity and ferocity, because all you need is half a chance to ruin everything. This is something we have to work on.
