Fabio Quagliarella’s brace has made him the sixth top scorer in Sampdoria history and the 36th all-time Serie A hitman.

The forward found the net twice in this evening’s 4-1 victory over Bologna, taking his seasonal tally to seven.

He turns 36 next month and is the oldest forward in Europe’s top five leagues to have scored at least five this season.

The brace allowed him to climb up a couple of statistical charts.

On 54 goals, Quagliarella is now the sixth all-time Serie A top scorer in a Sampdoria jersey, surpassing Edwin Ronald Firmani on 52.

It was also his 134th Serie A goal, overtaking Roberto Pruzzo’s 133 to become the 36th top marksman in the history of the league.
