Rolando Maran hopes Leonardo Pavoletti’s return to fitness can spark Cagliari back to life in the relegation clash with Frosinone.
It kicks off at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.
“Pavoletti is doing well, he trained with the team and we can consider him 100 per cent available,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“Our only fear should be failing to play our style of football, which for example is what happened on Monday in the 0-0 draw with Torino.
“Our approach has to be one of attack, positivity and a forward-thinking mentality. We’ve got to take the game by the scruff of the neck. That’s not to say we’re underestimating Frosinone, quite the opposite, as we’ll keep in mind just how tough this is going to be.”
While Pavoletti has recovered, Lucas Castro is out for six months with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
“Castro had specific characteristics of both quality and quantity. I now have to work out a balanced mosaic without him. Joao Pedro can be a trequartista or a striker. Marco Sau sent positive signs when he came off the bench, while Diego Farias has been out for a while, but is training well.
“Ragnar Klavan just needs to find his match fitness now.”
