Genoa: Juric stays... for now

Genoa insist ‘there is no need’ to sack Ivan Juric right now but warn ‘we have two very important games coming up and we can’t mess them up’.

Juric remains without a victory in eight games after Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Torino, despite predecessor Davide Ballardini winning four of his seven Serie A matches in charge.

“We thought about it and decided there was no need to shake things up,” sporting director Giorgio Perinetti told Il Secolo XIX.

“The team have shown signs of life and made improvements. There have been mistakes, but they can be remedied.

“Now we have two very important games coming up and we can’t mess them up. We also need good luck to help us again.”
