Milan met with Cesc Fabregas’ representatives today, reports suggest, with the Chelsea midfielder to be offered a two-and-a-half year contract.

The Spaniard will be a free agent at the end of the season, and is free to sign for another club from January onward.

Rossoneri director Paolo Maldini hinted they had an "idea" to sign the midfielder, and Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews reports they met Fabregas’ agents today.

While there is still significant distance between the two parties, both sides are keen to get a deal done.
